Top 5 Bowlers to Watch Out For in the ICC World Cup 2015

Top 5 Bowlers to Watch Out For in the ICC World Cup 2015

Mitchell Johnson was always fast but his consistency was something which deserted him for most of his early career. But he has been lethal since the Ashes when he terrorized the English batsmen, cranking up serious pace and bowling with accuracy. His disconcerting bounce and late swing will surely make him one of the most difficult bowlers to face in the upcoming World Cup.

Steyn has been a fearful bowler for what now seems like ages. His ability to get himself fired up and deliver in crunch situations makes him an invaluable asset to the Proteas. Mostly, he bowls well within himself in the first spell but then in the second and third spells comes back with his speed topped up and with some dangerous reverse swing to boot. He will be one bowler that every batsman will have their eyes on very very wearily.

Though he will be making a comeback from an ankle injury but the news is that he has already started bowling at near full pace in the nets. Not good news for the batsmen across the globe as they will be looking to add extra padding on their toes. His pinpoint yorkers and an array of slower balls, bouncers and swing make him a special death bowler. He brings excitement in the game like no other fast bowler and Sri Lanka will need all his experience to shepherd their otherwise raw bowling attack.

Southee is not as fast as he used to be when he made his debut but he now possesses some weapons which are so much more important than pace - dangerous out swing with deadly accuracy. He bowled brilliantly in the last World Cup on the dead sub continental tracks and has been a cornerstone on which the New Zealand team has been building their recent success story.

England depends on Anderson for early wickets and rarely does he disappoint them. With even an iota of assistance he becomes almost unplayable and swings the ball both ways with the accuracy of a seasoned sharpshooter. England will need Anderson to be as fired up as he was in the recent tri series when he had the ball on a hoop.

Which bowlers will make the batsmen's life hell in the Cricket World Cup 2015, share your views!!

not sure about Lasith. I'd say Bhuvi in this list as the 5th. he's been economic and his swing could be effective. and some finger spinner to be the dark horse. Doherty or Herath.

Missing Ajmal & Narine. curious that the suspect action reporting comes with the WC on the horizon. They'd been using the same action for years before :P
